Learning at the Center

Informal education

Talks by Hatfield-based scientists and visiting researchers, demonstrations and topical activities for all ages are scheduled regularly. Summer camps for young amateur scientists and workshops, seminars and special events open to families and individuals provide age-appropriate marine science experiences.

The center is open seven days a week for during Whale Watch Weeks, held each Winter and Spring. Trained docents will be on hand to help explain whale migration.

Group tours of the Visitor Center may be made by prior arrangement.

Both formal and informal activities are offered to volunteers to prepare them to be center docents, the friendly orange-jacketed folk who answer visitors' questions.
